"Dear God: Support everybody on the hard math test. I appreciate you, God, and in Jesus name I pray."
This prayer was presented by Mallory, 8, however it represents a sense of helplessness for all who are math challenged.
Garrett, 10, reminds me of a handful of prayers I've presented during and after the hurricane season of 2005, which was probably the most active Atlantic hurricane season in recorded history: "Please assist Churches in South Colorado Springs to not be torn up by floods, hurricanes, tornadoes along with other things. Please, Lord. Amen."
Would God answer a climate prayer? At the least one American common believed so. In December of 1944, throughout one of Europe's coldest winters on record, the German army launched a significant offensive campaign that became referred to as the Battle from the Bulge. Common George S. Patton didn't like the bad climate that prevented Allied planes from delivering air cover for his troops. He ordered the following prayer to be distributed among his troops:
"Almighty and most merciful God, we humbly beseech thee, of thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we've got had to contend. Grant us fair weather for battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon thee that, armed with thy power, we might advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish thy justice among males and nations. Amen."
The murky weather broke. Allied air power helped defeat the final key German offensive of the war.
One more general named Joshua prayed that the sun would stand nevertheless. The Lord answered his prayer, and Joshua defeated the Amorites (Joshua 10:12-14).
Taylor, 9, remembers our troops when he prays: "I pray for American soldiers to fight bravely for our country. They are going to win for justice, and if they die, we'll remember their bravery. We are going to not forget just how much they loved us adequate to guard us with all their hearts."
Mallory, 9, reminds us of our history using the following prayer of thanks: "Dear God: Thank you for telling George Washington that he could win the war for us to possess freedom."
You have to wonder irrespective of whether the British flag might still wave more than America if George Washington had not persevered. Handful of military experts gave Washington's tiny, ill-equipped army any possibility at all against the world's most potent military. The founder of our nation was a man who known as upon God by keeping a prayer journal. Here is often a partial quote from it:

This column ends using a prayer of thanksgiving from Steven, 9, for the greatest sacrifice ever produced: "Dear God: Thank you for sending your one and only son to die for our sins so we do not have to suffer by way of what he went by means of."
